The time for Spring Cleaning is upon us! In light of spring time, I’d like to take the opportunity to talk about the idea of cleaning and how you can raise your vibration this spring. This blog is centered around living in a clean, simple space, to enhance mental health. It's all about having positive items to bring positive vibes into your home.
Yes Please! For those of us living an Organic Lifestyle we avoid toxins, gmo’s and synthetics at all cost! For us ladies, when it comes to makeup, we usually just try our best to find products that will do the least amount of damage. For a very long time I used the EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database to find out just how toxic my beauty products were. With this I could see just how toxic the makeup I was using was. Lots of conventional makeup contains ingredients that actually age your skin, which is no good. After finding this new Makeup brand, I am hooked and won’t be using anything else, want to know why?
This makeup is made of only the good stuff. The ingredients in this makeup are actually beneficial to your skin! The ingredients are so pure you could eat them, no joke! Read below to find out what is in everything!
When you open this face powder you can smell the ginger in it! That’s a good sign that the product is made up of REAL ingredients. The elements used to create this face powder also have some added health benefits such as making you skin softer, hydrating the skin, and even contains elements that naturally have an anti-aging effect on the skin.
Tricks with the face powders from Olga's: While the medium face powder is not labeled bronzer, if you are fair skinned like myself, that’s exactly what you can use for it! The Translucent can also act as a mineral veil, to lock in your look once you've completed, or use it to brighten under the eyes.

These are my favorite products! It’s like organic lip balm that colors your lips! When you apply the tint, you’ll feel the refreshing effect of peppermint essential oil. They come in six amazing shades, there’s one for every occasion in your life. I think using organic lip products is extra important because if it's on your lips, there is a good chance that you might end up ingesting some of it throughout the day. Or if you are kissing someone, they might end up with the residue in their mouth. Best be safe and just stick to the nontoxic stuff!

Mineral Eye Shadow
Ok, so I don’t even want to limit these powders by calling them eye shadows because you can use a few of the shades to give yourself great highlights on your cheek, nose, and upper lip. You can check out the videos below to see how I do it. These powders are really great for a variety of looks. Anything from a night out on the town, to a casual lunch date. And again, there are no harsh chemicals in these powders.
Ingredients: Arrowroot Flour*, Mica, Magnesium Sterate, Silica.
Again, with the blush we have a product that is free from nano particles, parabens, Bismuth Oxychloride, talc, synthetic dyes, fillers, fragrance and preservatives. The ingredients for the blush are the same as the eye shadow. This blush goes on very bold, but when you blend it correctly it looks perfectly natural.
All ingredient infomration found at Olga's Organics website.
I’ve created a few little video tutorials if you’d like to see how I use this brand for different looks. I love brands like Olga’s Organics because they give us more options in our daily routine. If you’re looking to really start living toxin free, I’d suggest switching up your makeup routine and add an organic element.
Stay Beautiful lovelies,
Full disclosure, Matador Sent me some products to review, however, there were no special instructions on what to say or how to use this gear. As a traveler, photographer, and a person that has been known to jump off waterfalls whenever she runs into them.... I couldn't be more happy with all of these products! I'm sure you can imagine how useful they all are! Yes I have written on most of these products before, and that's because I really felt that they deserved their own post! This brand is a hikers best friend!
The filtration in the Matador Hydrolite Hydration Backpack is made by Sawyer. The great thing about this filtration is it takes out pretty much all of the bad bacteria. The In-line assembled Sawyer® MINI water filter removes 99.99999% bacteria + protozoa for up to 100,000 gallons of water. It removes things that can cause stomach irritation and serious infections. It takes out fecal coliform(E-coli), giardia, and Cryptosporidium. When you are drinking out of streams and rivers, these are the most common molecules that can harm you. So not only is the water pack perfect for festival travel, but for any traveling! If you are going to a foreign country and you’re not so sure about the water, just run it through this! Or if you’re outside on a hiking trail, you can drink easy out of streams you may find knowing that you have this filtration system on your back! Check out the slide show to see all the steps to put water in your pack!
Free Your Mind.
Discover all the magic in the world. Let go of the restrictions you may have, and allow the power of belief to change your life.
The power of belief is a magical thing. When you believe in an idea, you give it power. When it comes to crystals, some people believe, and some don’t. Past cultures have attributed certain stones to be protective, a love enhancer, a spiritual guide and more. The reality is stones, crystals, and other minerals work for some people and don’t for others. My opinion is, they work well in combination with other more tangible practices. For example, if you are attempting to relive anxiety, crystal healing in combination with orally taking CBD, applying lavender essential oil, and changing your eating habits could work very well.
Today we get to talk about CBD!
The wonderful thing about CBD Hemp Oil is that more people are finding ways to use it uniquely! It’s best known for relieving pain and anxiety. CBD oil has been used with pets, kids, and even us adults. I use CBD oil in two ways.
The first reason is pretty normal, I use it for joint pain relief. I get knee pain every now and then, so when I wake up in the morning I take about three fourths of a dropper and squirt it under my tongue. I let it sit there for about a minute and chase it down with some water. I suggest to take CBD oil away from food just so it can absorb into the body better.
The second way I like to use the oil is actually as a face serum! The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties of CBD oil can make a world of difference when applied to the skin. I use a few drops on my face in the morning before I apply lotion and sunscreen. CBD also has antibacterial properties which can help fight the development of acne, so if you are experiencing breakouts, this could help!
The CBD oil I’ve been using lately is made with MCT oil so you get a double whammy of goodness! MCT oil is great for brain function, hormone balance, and so much more! The MCT oil also makes the CBD oil much lighter than some other brands I have tried. Often times I come across CBD oils that are a very dark green, the one I’ve been using lately is super light and feels amazing on my skin. CBD Bio Naturals is the amazing brand I've been using lately. They sent me some to try, and now I'm hooked!
First things first, this is not just a bunch of colorful rocks someone put in the desert. It’s actually an art installation. The art piece was constructed by Ugo Rondinone. This piece is a critique on destinations such as Las Vegas and was placed midway between the artificial (Las Vegas) and the natural world (the desert).
The piece, as colorful and beautiful as it is, clearly acts as an invasive opposition to the natural surroundings. You’ll read many reviews claiming the art installation is an eye sore on the natural landscape, but isn’t that what all cities are? As beautiful as a city can be, every city is mankind’s scar on the surface of the Earth. This piece acts as a reminder that humans will has left many marks on the natural surface of our beautiful Earth. Perhaps will it inspire you to only purchase from brands that are eco-friendly, or that give back to repairing our Earth.
The Birthing Cave in Sedona Arizona is an amazing experience for the adventurous soul. We decided we wanted to make the trek, but as far as how to get there, we got a little turned around. So here you’ll find everything you need to know to make your journey nice and simple!
First, there is no cell reception, so if you have a map pulled up on your phone, make sure you save it offline!
Alors, Ça Pousse? (ACP) In English it translates to "So that’s growing?" It’s the name of a French skin care line that has truly unique products completely derived from the Earth. I first found them on Instagram and was super intrigued by the way they describe their ingredients. They use solar created Flower Elixirs in their products. The goal of this process is to harvest the “vibratory message” of the plant, this will echo our emotions and inner well-being.
Their concept: Vibratory cosmetics for body and mind in an eco-design.
Their philosophy: Harmony with Nature and the cycles of the Moon.
The concept and philosophy speak to my inner hippie moonchild. The balms also last much longer that other creams you would normally buy, while being the most unique holistic products I’ve ever encountered. They don’t use any preservatives and provide consumers with a concentrated botanical formula because there is no water in the balms...
Check out this article to see lots of cute pictures! As most of you have gathered I'm all about eco-friendly brands. Oh Susannah® has a variety of products, but their pillow cases are created with eco-friendly inks! THE PILLOWS ARE ALSO SUPER SOFT! They are made with 120 Gram, silky soft, double brushed microfiber fabric. While I'm not totally sure what all the numbers mean, I know it feels mega soft against my sleepy face! The technique of putting the decorative element on is a permanent fiber dyeing process that leaves the decoration area soft and breathable so you can sleep on the pillowcases without feeling the print. I love sleeping on these pillowcases, almost as much as the dog loves taking up the whole bed!
A Sad Day in Paradise
Many of you know that I have called Santa Barbara my home for over 4 years. Yesterday our community was struck by a Mudslide in Montecito. After watching some news channels and reading people's comments on the situation, I felt compelled to write this blog post to voice a few corrections, and to let people know what's going on. While I am not at ground zero, here is the story from my view and friend's around me.
The Beast28 backpack is one of my favorite hiking essentials for local adventures and exploring while traveling. What makes it a great travel pack is how compact it is. When traveling, You can easily attach it to your carry-on or additional backpack, or you can fit it in nicely into your luggage. You can see in the picture that it rolls up into a nice little pouch very easily...
Alright, I will admit that 2017 was not a year I met any fitness goals. It was the exact opposite. Instead of going to the gym 1-2 times a day and going to a yoga class daily, I was lucky to make it to the gym 3 times a week. I started doing yoga every other day, and as time went on I slowly started doing it twice a week. Quit the decrease in physical activity. I spent most of 2017 traveling and my workout routine just plummeted. But it’s a new year, and time to take fitness back!
Enough about me, now let’s talk about how to make this 2018 your sexiest year!
Ever been out on an adventure and stumble across an unexpected body of water that you just had to take a dip in? I know I have! I also know that I don’t usually carry around a giant towel to dry off with after the spontaneous swim is over. However, I have found a solution! It’s a compact, light towel that is super absorbent!
If you know me, you know I’m always avoiding toxins. I’m also a pasty Viking girl, so sunscreen on sunny days is a must! Most sunscreens now a das are filled with toxins, synthetics, chemical, and other gunk. About 5 years ago I started shying away from conventional sunscreens and made my own at home. I started using a mix of coconut oil, carrot seed oil, and red raspberry seed oil. That last oil is extremely expensive though! I didn’t start exploring mixing zinc into sunscreen until this last summer. And wow! The protection level just amplifies! While sunscreen yourself can be fun, it can also be pricy if you’re not buying things in bulk. I did find a sunscreen by Luna + Quartz that mixes some of my favorite natural sun protecting ingredients into one magic bottle.
I have found another gem to share with you. It’s a misting spray that makes your space smell amazing along with purifying the energy in the room. You’ll notice in the bottle that there is a black tourmaline and quartz crystal inside the bottle. These crystals also make great little keep sakes after you’ve finished the bottle! Let’s do a little recap of the ingredients in this glass bottle: Black tourmaline and crystal quartz infused alkaline water, palo santo essential oil, and cedar wood essential oil.
Over the last year, I’ve become very fond of salves. If you are unfamiliar with salves, it is usually a solid blend of different oils that have healing benefits. Some people describe them as body balms. I use a few different types of products like this, but I recently found one with a very unique quality. It is infused with the power of a mineral called Aventurine! Of course, this crystal magic comes from Luna + Quartz! As a hippie child, I totally fell in love with salve.
I wanted to take a moment to go through each ingredient in this salve so you can see if it’s something you’ll be putting on your Christmas list this year. Click below to keep reading....
One thing I’ve noticed in my days of being an eco-friendly water bottle owner: Most water bottles you find usually are a solid color of some sort, kind of clunky and usually not the chicest thing to carry around with you. Nothing like trying to stay hydrated at an event in LA and pulling out your bright blue water bottle. Or being the girl in Whole Foods that drops her water bottle and the noise is so loud everyone looks to see if someone is ringing a cowbell in the store. But nope! It’s just me being a klutz!
So, I decided to make a change. I recently got the Bronze Gold Cloudy Grey from HYDY. They are a California brand making eco-friendly water vessels that are uniquely chic! Below you’ll see my top 3 reasons to go chic with HYDY.
All right. I’ll admit. I don’t have style… I mean… I know what I like, but when I go shopping, the stuff I pick out to try on looks just like stuff I’ve already got in my closet. I just don’t really know how to shop. However, I can look at a girl with an outfit on and think, YES, I want that look, but putting it together, that’s not my thing. I have lots of stylish friends, and trust me when I hang out with my girls in Beverly Hills, Clair and Jules, I love how they dress me up in their clothes. It makes me feel more confident, and like I actually belong in LA.
I’ve been adulting for a few years now, and sometimes it can get a little crazy. Especially when you're building your own business, working to build other people’s businesses and all the other things that go along with your 20’s. Health insurance and student loans are two issues that always seem to get at me. It’s funny that getting health insurance would be one of the things that stresses me out, because stress is not good for your health! With all these little built up issues sometimes we just need to chill out! And I know a lot of us out there will preach about exercise, mediation, yoga, or really any kind of activity that can help you reduce stress in life. But honestly, when I’m super stressed, mediating becomes almost impossible, especially if I’m attempting to do it on my own without a guide. While yoga totally helps me clear my mind, sometimes all the emotional stress is met with being physically exhausted. When this happens, there is only one thing I can advise....
